About me
I have a profound love for music and a dedication to nurturing musical talent, and I am thrilled to be offering music lessons in Montreal. I completed a Bachelor of Music at Mount Allison University in 2020 and for the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of running my own music studio in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where I’ve honed my teaching skills and witnessed the transformative power of music in my students’ lives. I am also a professional musician and recording artist, which fuels my love for music and infuses creativity into our lessons.

I specialize in piano, voice, violin, and fiddle instruction, and I also have experience playing in bands, orchestras, singing in choirs, playing guitar, bass, and drums, and recording my own music. My approach is rooted in tailoring lessons to the unique interests and strengths of each student. Whether you’re a beginner or a more advanced musician, I am committed to helping you unlock your full potential and achieve your musical goals.

Studio Policy
Practice policy:
Consistent, daily practice is the key to musical success! Make practice a part of your daily routine. Sometimes it can be helpful to practice at the same time every day. We will decide together on an appropriate amount of practice time, and students are expected to practice all assigned material.

Payment policy:
Lessons are $30 dollars per half hour, $40 per 45 mins, or $60 per hour. Please pay monthly on the first of the month. I accept e-transfer, cheque, or cash. Please send e-transfers to adellecelwood@gmail.com.
Missed lesson/late policy:
Please notify me as soon as possible if you must miss a lesson. Missed lessons must be rescheduled within two weeks of the missed lesson, and make-up lessons are not guaranteed. It is up to the student to reach out to reschedule, and I will try to accommodate make-up requests to the best of my ability. No refunds are given for missed lessons.
Lessons occur within the designated half hour time slot and unfortunately cannot be extended to make up for lateness.
Termination Policy:
If the learning style isn’t working for you, I’m always happy to discuss alternatives and figure out how to make the most of our lessons together. If for whatever reason you would like to discontinue your lessons, please give one months notice.
Material Fees:
Please expect to spend $30-$50 dollars per year on the required music books for your lessons. Most books can be found at local music stores, or online. These materials will be decided after the first few lessons.
Please also provide a notebook to write homework in.
